Gerty Cori
First woman to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1947 for her discovery of the course of the catalytic conversion of glycogen.

Gertrude B. Elion         
1988 recipient of the Nobel prize in Physiology or Medicine.Elion developed multitude of new drugs, using innovative research methods.

Aung San Suu Kyi
Winner of Nobel peace prize in 1991. She remained in house arrest in Burma for 15 years.
